The walk
Almost-loop walk of 4.4 km between Carona and Piateda, 252 m of total ascent: about 1 h 30 min of walking. Waymarked hiking trail, between 1922 and 2479 m above sea level. Along the way: Rifugio Fratelli Longo and Passo di Venina. After the walk: lunch at Trattoria delle Miniere in Lenna (16.7 km).
Waymarked hiking trail (grade E): paths and dirt roads, good walking shoes are enough.

By car
From Sondrio: about 20 min (15 km as the crow flies). Most trailheads have roadside parking or a small car park in the nearest village.
By train and bus
