The walk
6.5 km out-and-back walk near Carona, up to Rifugio Longo, 493 m of total ascent: about 2 h 45 min of walking. Waymarked hiking trail, between 1664 and 2035 m above sea level. After the walk: lunch at Trattoria delle Miniere in Lenna (15.4 km).
Waymarked hiking trail (grade E): paths and dirt roads, good walking shoes are enough.

From Sondrio: about 25 min (16 km as the crow flies). Most trailheads have roadside parking or a small car park in the nearest village.
By train and bus
