The walk
5.7 km out-and-back walk between Carrara and Luni, up to Fontia, 448 m of total ascent: about 2 h 30 min of walking. Waymarked hiking trail. After the walk: wine tasting at La Pietra del Focolare (0.9 km) and lunch at Da Fiorella in Luni (1.0 km).
Waymarked hiking trail (grade E): paths and dirt roads, good walking shoes are enough.

By car
From La Spezia: about 25 min (18 km as the crow flies). Most trailheads have roadside parking or a small car park in the nearest village.
By train and bus
Take a train to La Spezia, then a regional bus or a taxi for the last stretch. Our link plans the whole trip with Google Maps public transport.
