The walk
5.8 km out-and-back walk between Demonte and Castelmagno, up to Castelmagno, colle Fauniera, bivio CNAR28-CNAR55, 350 m of total ascent: about 2 h 15 min of walking. Waymarked hiking trail, between 2311 and 2501 m above sea level. Along the way: Colle Fauniera, Colle d'Esischie and Rocce Ciarmetta. After the walk: lunch at Osteria della Pace in Sambuco (6.4 km).
Waymarked hiking trail (grade E): paths and dirt roads, good walking shoes are enough.
How to get there
By car
From Cuneo: about 50 min (33 km as the crow flies). Most trailheads have roadside parking or a small car park in the nearest village.
By train and bus
Take a train to Cuneo, then a regional bus or a taxi for the last stretch. Our link plans the whole trip with Google Maps public transport.
