The walk
5.2 km out-and-back walk between Montemurlo and Vaiano, up to Innesto sentiero 70, 320 m of total ascent: about 2 h of walking. Waymarked CAI hiking trail, between 455 and 670 m above sea level. After the walk: lunch at La Bottegaia in Pistoia (13.5 km).
Waymarked hiking trail (grade E): paths and dirt roads, good walking shoes are enough.

From Florence: about 35 min (23 km as the crow flies). Most trailheads have roadside parking or a small car park in the nearest village.
By train and bus
