The walk
5.3 km out-and-back walk near Gressoney-Saint-Jean, up to Weissmatten, 284 m of total ascent: about 2 h of walking. Waymarked CAI hiking trail, between 2181 and 2396 m above sea level. Along the way: Valle del Lys. After the walk: lunch at Al Maniero in Issogne (16.4 km).
Waymarked hiking trail (grade E): paths and dirt roads, good walking shoes are enough.

By car
From Aosta: about 1 h (40 km as the crow flies). Most trailheads have roadside parking or a small car park in the nearest village.
By train and bus
