The walk

7.8 km out-and-back walk near Comune di Trieste, up to Bivio sentiero n. 3 (bosco Igouza), almost flat (+66 m): about 2 h of walking. Waymarked CAI hiking trail. Along the way: Chiesa di Santa Maria Maddalena and Basovizza. After the walk: wine tasting at Gabi Wines (2.5 km) and lunch at Antica Trattoria Suban in Trieste (3.2 km).

Waymarked hiking trail (grade E): paths and dirt roads, good walking shoes are enough.

How to get there

Country buses run less often on Sundays and holidays, and some not at all: check the return journey before you set off.
