The walk
5.2 km out-and-back walk between Varzi and Ponte Nizza, up to Sant'Alberto (Abazzia), 272 m of total ascent: about 1 h 45 min of walking. Waymarked CAI hiking trail, between 562 and 722 m above sea level. Along the way: Eremo di Sant'Alberto di Butrio and Sagliano. After the walk: wine tasting at Torre Degli Alberi (7.6 km) and lunch at Buscone in Varzi (7.2 km).
Waymarked hiking trail (grade E): paths and dirt roads, good walking shoes are enough.
