4.2 km out-and-back walk near Marsico Nuovo, up to Piana del Lago, 256 m of total ascent: about 1 h 30 min of walking. Waymarked hiking trail, between 1297 and 1551 m above sea level. After the walk: wine tasting at Petracastalda (7.3 km).
Waymarked hiking trail (grade E): paths and dirt roads, good walking shoes are enough.

By car
From Potenza: about 30 min (19 km as the crow flies). Most trailheads have roadside parking or a small car park in the nearest village.
By train and bus
