The walk
6.1 km out-and-back walk between Lauria and Lagonegro, up to Monte del Papa, 466 m of total ascent: about 2 h 45 min of walking. Waymarked hiking trail, between 1542 and 1985 m above sea level. Along the way: Massiccio del Sirino, Riserva regionale Lago Laudemio and Lago Remmo. After the walk: lunch at Taverna Nonna Vera in Latronico (15.6 km).
Waymarked hiking trail (grade E): paths and dirt roads, good walking shoes are enough.
How to get there
By car
From Sapri: about 30 min (20 km as the crow flies). Most trailheads have roadside parking or a small car park in the nearest village.
By train and bus
Take a train to Sapri, then a regional bus or a taxi for the last stretch. Our link plans the whole trip with Google Maps public transport.
