The walk
8.0 km out-and-back walk between Carrara and Luni, up to Castelpoggio, 449 m of total ascent: about 3 h of walking. Waymarked hiking trail. Along the way: Castelpoggio. After the walk: wine tasting at La Pietra del Focolare (0.3 km) and lunch at Da Fiorella in Luni (1.0 km).
Waymarked hiking trail (grade E): paths and dirt roads, good walking shoes are enough.

By car
From La Spezia: about 30 min (20 km as the crow flies). Most trailheads have roadside parking or a small car park in the nearest village.
By train and bus
