The walk
4.7 km out-and-back walk between Coreno Ausonio and Castelforte, up to Monte Ornito, 243 m of total ascent: about 1 h 45 min of walking. Waymarked hiking trail, between 671 and 790 m above sea level. After the walk: wine tasting at Porto di Mola (7.5 km).
Waymarked hiking trail (grade E): paths and dirt roads, good walking shoes are enough.

From Isernia: about 1 h 05 min (44 km as the crow flies). Most trailheads have roadside parking or a small car park in the nearest village.
