The walk
5.5 km out-and-back walk near Abetone Cutigliano, up to Sentiero 506, 447 m of total ascent: about 2 h 30 min of walking. Waymarked CAI hiking trail, between 1325 and 1621 m above sea level. After the walk: lunch at Il Nonno Cianco in Abetone Cutigliano (3.5 km).
Waymarked hiking trail (grade E): paths and dirt roads, good walking shoes are enough.

From Lucca: about 50 min (33 km as the crow flies). Most trailheads have roadside parking or a small car park in the nearest village.
By train and bus
