The walk
6.8 km out-and-back walk between Mesoraca and Taverna, up to Macchia Pitinella, 320 m of total ascent: about 2 h 15 min of walking. Waymarked CAI hiking trail, between 1624 and 1734 m above sea level. After the walk: lunch at La Taverna dei Briganti in Cotronei (8.0 km).
Waymarked hiking trail (grade E): paths and dirt roads, good walking shoes are enough.

By car
From Cosenza: about 1 h (39 km as the crow flies). Most trailheads have roadside parking or a small car park in the nearest village.
By train and bus
