The walk
7.3 km out-and-back walk between Portula and Coggiola, up to Bivio BIAG06-BIAG13, Castagnea, 392 m of total ascent: about 2 h 45 min of walking. Waymarked CAI hiking trail, between 471 and 743 m above sea level. After the walk: wine tasting at la Psigula (7.9 km).
Waymarked hiking trail (grade E): paths and dirt roads, good walking shoes are enough.

From Stresa: about 50 min (35 km as the crow flies). Most trailheads have roadside parking or a small car park in the nearest village.
By train and bus
