The walk

5.3 km out-and-back walk near Santo Stefano di Magra, up to Ponzano Superiore, 256 m of total ascent: about 1 h 45 min of walking. Waymarked hiking trail. Along the way: Santuario della Madonna delle Grazie, Pieve di San Michele Arcangelo and Ponzano Superiore. After the walk: wine tasting at Il Monticello (2.5 km) and lunch at La Burlanda in Fosdinovo (4.5 km).

Waymarked hiking trail (grade E): paths and dirt roads, good walking shoes are enough.

Country buses run less often on Sundays and holidays, and some not at all: check the return journey before you set off.
