The walk
4.8 km loop between Pievepelago and Fiumalbo, 341 m of total ascent: about 2 h of walking. Waymarked CAI hiking trail, between 1063 and 1355 m above sea level. After the walk: lunch at Il Nonno Cianco in Abetone Cutigliano (9.4 km).
Waymarked hiking trail (grade E): paths and dirt roads, good walking shoes are enough.

From Lucca: about 55 min (38 km as the crow flies). Most trailheads have roadside parking or a small car park in the nearest village.
By train and bus
