The walk
5.2 km out-and-back walk between Firenzuola and Monghidoro, up to Sentiero 917, 300 m of total ascent: about 2 h of walking. Waymarked CAI hiking trail, between 900 and 1075 m above sea level. After the walk: lunch at Da Alberto in Barberino di Mugello (14.8 km).
Waymarked hiking trail (grade E): paths and dirt roads, good walking shoes are enough.

From Bologna: about 50 min (35 km as the crow flies). Most trailheads have roadside parking or a small car park in the nearest village.
By train and bus
