The walk
7.2 km out-and-back walk between Vicopisano and Calci, up to Prato a Ceccottino, 489 m of total ascent: about 3 h of walking. Waymarked CAI hiking trail. After the walk: wine tasting at Fattoria San Vito (2.6 km) and lunch at Il Mecenate in Lucca (15.4 km).
Waymarked hiking trail (grade E): paths and dirt roads, good walking shoes are enough.

By car
From Pisa: about 15 min (11 km as the crow flies). Most trailheads have roadside parking or a small car park in the nearest village.
By train and bus
