The walk
7.0 km out-and-back walk between Castellarano and Scandiano, up to Sentiero Spallanzani, 220 m of total ascent: about 2 h 15 min of walking. Easy paths and dirt roads. After the walk: wine tasting at Tenuta di Aljano (3.1 km) and lunch at Badessa in Casalgrande (7.5 km).
Easy path (grade T): wide tracks and short climbs, trainers are fine in dry weather.

From Modena: about 30 min (22 km as the crow flies). Most trailheads have roadside parking or a small car park in the nearest village.
By train and bus
