The walk
7.5 km out-and-back walk between Picinisco and Pizzone, up to Passo dei Monaci, 207 m of total ascent: about 2 h 15 min of walking. Waymarked CAI hiking trail, between 1406 and 1491 m above sea level. After the walk: wine tasting at I Ciacca (7.5 km).
Waymarked hiking trail (grade E): paths and dirt roads, good walking shoes are enough.

From Isernia: about 35 min (24 km as the crow flies). Most trailheads have roadside parking or a small car park in the nearest village.
By train and bus
