The walk
4.2 km out-and-back walk near Pievepelago, up to Monte Rondinaio, 349 m of total ascent: about 2 h of walking. Waymarked hiking trail, between 1564 and 1905 m above sea level. Along the way: Lago Baccio and Lago Turchino. After the walk: lunch at Il Nonno Cianco in Abetone Cutigliano (9.2 km).
Waymarked hiking trail (grade E): paths and dirt roads, good walking shoes are enough.

By car
From Lucca: about 50 min (33 km as the crow flies). Most trailheads have roadside parking or a small car park in the nearest village.
By train and bus
