The walk
6.4 km out-and-back walk near Pievepelago, up to Monte Albano, 449 m of total ascent: about 2 h 45 min of walking. Waymarked hiking trail, between 1233 and 1662 m above sea level. Along the way: Monte Spicchio. After the walk: lunch at Il Nonno Cianco in Abetone Cutigliano (15.8 km).
Waymarked hiking trail (grade E): paths and dirt roads, good walking shoes are enough.

By car
From Lucca: about 1 h (40 km as the crow flies). Most trailheads have roadside parking or a small car park in the nearest village.
By train and bus
